The nuances of language

"Newspaper publishers say they're pushing for a free press, while athletic officials claim newspapers want to profit off athletes."

Note the connotative difference between say and claim?

This ain't a fight over the First Amendment. It's a fight over who gets to make money off the resale of photographs. It's a commercial appropriation issue.

Not a Whig issue, by the way.....that's an AP story.

Nice job with election results on the Whig's Website tonight. I guess I didn't go vote today.

Okay, after 10 p.m., The Whig finally has a paragraph about the school board referendum. Results were on the County Clerk's page around 9 p.m. It takes an hour to write a paragraph?

Maybe they had to wait until after WGEM's 10 p.m. news came on.
