Wondering

. . . . how the stock market meltdown is going to affect -- or not affect -- the building of the big Salvation Army community center downtown.

Seeing as how the Danforth Foundation recently announced that it wasn't going to be able to make the $50 million it had pledged for work around the St. Louis Arch. I'm sure a lot of foundations are having to reassess the amount and rate of their giving.

To the best of my knowledge, the funding is in place and construction should be starting with the upcoming season.

If they'da invested the corpus with Rocky Cola...they coulda added a drivethrough.

BTW, the Danforth Foundation thing is a true tragedy. They didn't reduce the project or delay the transfer of the endowment. They just exited, stage right. Not blaming them but I know a lot of peeps involved in the planning of the complex and the midwest is going to culturally and financially poorer for it.

Continued Success.
