An exception

My general policy is to go to local retailers whenever possible and avoid chain establishments. But I found myself at Ruby Tuesday on New Year's Eve, and I have to say . . . if there's a better salad bar in town, I've not seen it.

There's no soup on it. That reason makes it inferior.

Ah, but it's advertised as a salad bar, not a soup and salad bar.

Much as I like having soup on my buffet tables, it's not a deal-breaker if there isn't soup on the salad bar.

As Americans, we must demand more from ourselves, our leaders and our salad barsSoup and chicken wings are now musts. By 2010 roast beef and an assortment of breads must also be staples. We must stay ahead of the curve or go the way of the domestic automakers.

I do need to give Kelly's another try. I quit going there a long time ago, in the pre-smoking ban days, when the supposed "non-smoking" section smelled just as bad as the smoking section. Now that the ban's in place, I'll have to put it on my "let's-give-a-try" list again.

I was there recently.....warm plates, the 2 sides looked putrid.....the soups were cream based and separating...not much on it that isn't non-diet...everything was drenched in oil or mayo....sorry to say it sucked....not a great price for the cinnamon rolls that were hard and out too long.....not trying to complain just saying how it was
