Why, Lord?

Did you see fit to punish Quincy? First with a terrible flood, and then with a 19-paragraph story about some kindergartner in Gurnee who is an advertising model?

Why?

1. Don't blame God, it's people that muck things up.

2. It's nice if a priest is inspirational but it's not part of the job description. Wish the RCs would go back to the original "plan" (like for the first 1200 years) and allow priests to marry again. Could do it like the Eastern churches and allow marriage before ordination, but not after (so plan ahead :). Anyway I expect it would greatly increase the priest pool, though then you'd get into housing and salary issues, I'm sure.

Back to the subject at hand--AllNews, do NOT blame God for that story. Blame the editors (though they may think they are gods).

To the individual who posted a comment at 7:33 this morning....sorry to delete it, but it was a shade too close to libelous for my comfort. I almost never delete comments but thought that one was in the gray zone.

Whoa.

While I don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle, you should definitely not equate it with being a child molestor. Fact is the vast majority of child molestors are hetero.

So be careful there, if I may offer some spiritual advice.

OTOH, I know exactly the type priest you mean (sans the molestor implication, though). Casper Milquetoast in "presence", and probably either always wants to hug you or shakes your hand with a weak, damp grip.

PS. The priest is to serve the sacraments, nurture his flock, and oversee the growth of the faith. Inspirational is cool, but not essential as long as he's good at the other stuff. I've known some unassuming priests with hidden backbones of steel...

I had to leave my church since we lost 90 percent to the crossing. Every week the preach wanted more money. I finally said screw it and went to the crossing myself.
