That open forum wasn't so scary, now was it?
From QuincyNews.org:
"Jeff Kerkhoff talked about Grover Cleveland's impact on the country as president and Vince Shaw complained about the length of time it is taking the R.L. Brink Company to finish work being done on Oak Street."
Hot topics both.

One of Jeff's problems is that he is so much an accountant (nothing wrong with that either) that once he reaches the bottom line, he forgets to analyze the result and explain the conclusion without using numbers. His presentations to the school board are usually spot on. His "historical" presentations that depend on speech though--well, I THINK his conclusion was "If this Democratic president of more than a century ago was adamantly opposed to government expansion, shouldn't we at the very least examine why he felt that way and acted as he did--and consider the implications and reasons for following his example today?"
The Oak Street issue IS a burning issue to anyone that lives in the area and needs to use the street. I agree with the speaker--R.L. Brink has proven time and again it cannot keep to a contracted timeframe and should no longer be considered a responsible bidder by the city--at least on street work.
But overall I thought it was a reasonable start--at least there weren't a full six speakers, consider that 15 minutes later we heard from 14 people about the horror (and glory) of having Lucky Dog Daycare downtown. All 12 dogs, when it was full up. Wonder what the downtown biz folks will make of April 17th's huge number of dogs around Washington Park for Mardi Pals? Maybe they will recognize the biz boost the visitors will bring and will gladly supply pooper scoopers for folks to clean up their four-footed friends messes post haste?
