Great News!

Bob Slattery has agreed to be my attorney and I didn't even have to ask him! What a guy. By the way, I have agreed to be your psychic.....I know you wanted me to. I'll send you my bill next week.

In other news, the Highway Department is going to signalize 36th and Payson. Now excuse me while I go bowlize some soup. Maybe I'll cream cheeseize a roll while I'm at it.

Yeah, the highway dept will fuck that intersection up now too. There will be several cars sitting at a red light needlessly while no one is traveling through the green light. What a waste!

You know this could get carried too far--What if proctologists and gyncologists just start walking up to folks and start rendering unsolicited services. Ya know, accupuncture could become a bit of an issue. If it's spontaneous, it could be more puncture than accu.

And then there's perfume sale clerks and fertilizer delivery guy.

I think Bob should just wait until you've called for an appointment.

I'd rather sit for a minute or two at a stop light with no one coming than go to pull out onto 36th from Payson and get creamed by a car doing 55 through the curve.

That's happened more than 30 times in less than 5 years at that intersection.

The plan looks good. Waiting for a minute or even two won't kill you.

That car coming through your driver side window could, though.

Just push the gas pedal harder and get the fuck out of the way. The timid drivers in Quincy are the ones who always cause a wreck.

That stop light and intersection reconstruction IS "Great News!" to anyone who lives in that area. I drive through that intersection many times every day. Unfortunately, I was in one of those 30 accidents at 36th & Payson Road. I was hit broadside by a driver who failed to realize that the north/south traffic has the right of way. It's a difficult intersection if you're not familiar with it. The truck traffic through this residential area is amazingly high - thank goodness I was hit by a car, and not a large truck owned by a local family whose last name begins with the letter "R", who run their trucks up and down Payson Road past Monroe School every day!

Actually, much more needs to be done to Route 96 than just this intersection. The entire highway needs to be at least 3 lanes from State south to the bypass. The new subdivisions that have been added along that stretch of road have not only increased traffic, but the stops and starts while someone attempts to turn slow down the traffic flow, and increase rear-end collisions. The little section of Payson Road between the highway and 48th St needs to be closed, and the intersection of 48th St and 96 also needs to be redirected, or redesigned. And the curves need to be taken out.
