Ho Hum
I guess someone somewhere thinks that the Beaux Arts Ball is front page news. Not in my universe, however. To me it's more of an "On the Street" entry.
On a positive side, the Sunday editorial concerning airline service was good and strong. You can debate whether the federal government should be subsidizing itty-bitty airports across the land, but as long as it is, then the airlines that are lined up at the trough to get the money should provide service as promised.

I don't know. Does the paper usually give front page coverage to the ball when an oakley isn't the winner?
Nope. Usually somewhere inside, though with lots of pictures and lists and stuff.
You are wrong. The Beaux Arts Ball ALWAYS goes on the cover. ALWAYS. Check the archives. I guarantee it.
Quincy Issues has dropped out so added you to my links
Whether it's always on the front, or only occasionally, doesn't address the issue of whether it belongs on the front. To me the prominence of the ball in the newspaper merely indicates the degree to which Quincy's old guard enjoys self-congratulation and considers such activity newsworthy.
Oakley win ball at the Oakley Center.......hummmmmmmmmmm.......
It's a pretty cut and dry "contest", "sell" the most tickets and win. Word is it takes about $5k to win.
No!!!!! It's buy the most tickets and your daughter wins!! Not sell!
