The QU story

Nice piece of newsgathering......the announcement is made around 10:30 and it makes the afternoon paper.

I especially liked the timeline. Nobody can remember the sequence of events on any subject like that, so it's helpful to have them all summarized in one place. Plus......nothing says "clueless board of trustees" like a collection of all their inane comments and actions--four-year contract extension followed by "excusing" the president a few months later.

And has anyone ever used a lamer euphemism than "excused"?

At least it was more direct than the Washington DC favorite- "Wanted to spend more time with their family"
No knock on the Sister, but I wish they would have kept Father Mario while they still had him. He could raise the bank. The school is in a tough spot- but the academic quality of the school is what I think has slipped the most. They need to start investing in attracting quality faculty again if they want to get quality students.

I suspect the "will discuss her future at QU" is a nod toward perhaps keeping her here until her contract runs out. Might be tough for her, though.

Still from what I've seen, SHE would be gracious about the faculty who apparently feel so threatened by someone who thinks if you claim to be a certain kind of institution you should also adhere to the precepts of that certain kind.

That is, you can't "be Rotarian" without BEING ROTARIAN (I only say that cause I remember a Rotary Club member saying it :)

In MLB they use "designated for assignment." It's usually not a good career path.

Rocky, nuns take a vow of poverty, so they can always use that against her!
