Interesting comparison
Saw this statistic in the Nashville newspaper over the weekend. Teen driver mortality rates:
Illinois 8th best in the country.
Missouri....47th.
Wonder why that is?

Been doing this National Study for quite a few years. Iowa State U. (AKA "Moo U.) did a study a while back that criticized the methodology.
Essentially, ISU said that the study had to back out the number of ambient deaths across the driving population to establish the context in which the youth death happen. In other words, conditions which contribute to ALL deaths have to be accounted for in comparing teen deaths. Because the county and farm roads are so bad in Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas and Iowa, they say, the teen performance is really not as bad as it looks.
I kind of take that as saying "This is an unsafe state anyhow, so kids are dying just like the rest of us! Get over it!"
I don't know what method is right but it's an interesting concept.
Is there anything this umrblog guys doesn't know? I would'nt be half as mad if I was as smart as him.
